Our first hike was Silver Lake which is located near Brighton in big cottonwood canyon. This is more of a walk than a hike but still worth doing. You start off on a boardwalk in some marshland and eventually make your way into a forest. The entire walk is around Silver Lake. We've seen many, many squirrels, a woolly bear caterpillar, and a couple moose but there are other animals such as borneal toads in the area. This is one of our favorites, it's just beautiful. From the back of the lake there are trails leading to twin lakes and solitude lake. We haven't done those trails yet.
